Criteria for selection include the validity and feasibility of the proposed project or program of study and the candidate's seriousness of purpose and academic and other preparation, especially proficiency in the language of the host country sufficient to undertake the proposed project or study.
In countries where English is one of the official languages or main languages spoken, the candidate must have an intermediate level of knowledge of one of the country's non-English languages at the time of application.
Interested applicants should attend an information session at the Yale Center for International and Professional Experience and may schedule an appointment with a Fellowship Advisor. Eligible are students in Yale College who are U.S. citizens.
Graduating seniors are eligible to apply.
Non-US citizens are not eligible to apply for this fellowship.
