Brief Description:

The Elisa Spungen Bildner ’75 and Robert Bildner ’72 Israel Travel Grant is awarded through Slifka Center and provides opportunities for Yale undergraduates to develop a deeper appreciation for the land of Israel and/or Judaism. Applications to this fellowship will be considered for all funds on the Slifka Israel Summer Travel Fellowships Common application. Only one application is necessary.

Description:

The Elisa Spungen Bildner ’75 and Robert Bildner ’72 Israel Travel Grant is awarded through Slifka Center and provides Yale undergraduates with financial support to develop a deeper appreciation for the land of Israel and/or Judaism. 

The fellowship will be used to defray the costs of travel to Israel for one of the following purposes:
a)  Professional non-paid work (internship or volunteer)
b)  Academic research (in any field)
c)  Academic studies (including language studies)

Applications to this fellowship will be considered for all funds on the Slifka Israel Summer Travel Fellowships Common application. Only one application is necessary.

Application Information:

Grant recipients must:
1.  Participate in a brief follow up survey at the end of the summer.
2.  Submit a brief report (up to 2 pages) on their summer experience.
3.  Contribute to follow up initiatives on campus, should they take place (examples may include, but are not limited to, writing a thank you note to the family whose donation helped fund my travel, participating in a relevant on campus event).


Special Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must be undergraduate students enrolled at Yale College. Joseph Slifka Center for Jewish Life at Yale does not discriminate on such basis as race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
